• Infectious microorganisms exists in reservoirs e.g environment, animals or infected human

Types of transmisson:

• Direct or Indirect Contact e.g Vectors(insects) bites/stings.
• Direct Exposure e.g faecal oral transmission through food/water/soil
• Human to Human by aerolised microorganims e.g droplets( coughing/sneezing)
• Physical contact e.g Sexual contact, blood transfusion and contaminated materials.
