A pressure group is an organisation of like-minded individuals who have specific interests with which they aim to influence policy-makers who hold public office. There are a numerous amount of pressure groups in the United Kingdom representing an array of issues.

Pressure groups are a key element of a pluralist democracy.

Pressure groups tend to benefit from some kind of formal organisation. Many have formal membership structures
