Pressure on solids:

Pressure is the force per unit area. i.e. Pressure = Force / Area.

Pressure in solids acts on the point of contact between the object on which the force is being exerted on and the solid which will experience the pressure.

Ways to increase pressure exerted:

  • use a large force
  • small area of object
