1. Requirement of justice
For groups: switching around group injustice results in new injustice applying to new group, just not on the basis of race.
If respond that racial traits etc more morally salient, our only justification for this is an appeal to past injustice
For individuals: Role-model argument. Witnessing other similar people succeed will revert deeply ingrained negative self image.
