Policing and enforcement in the Norman period

  • Within the Norman period, Villigers were relient on shire courts and sherifs for the neforcement of law and order. Counrty courts were used to deal with more serious crimes that villgers commited. This had A minimal impact on the Britis people as  they had to be increasingly carefull with there actions because they went from being minimally policed to having a sherif watch over them
