Plato's Parmenides and the weaknesses of the Forms

Parmenides:

  • Later work of Plato where he rejects the ideas he had previously set out in the Republic

Plato proposed the theory of Forms because they explain why many things are similar. For example, giraffes, elephants and skyscrapers are all large because they share the Form of largeness.
