Desturctive - two plates are moving towards each other

• oceanic plate meets a continental plate
• oceanic plate is denser so it's forced down into the mantle and destroyed
• often creates volcanoes and ocean trenches
• where oceanic plate goes under the continental plate is called subduciton zone
