  • Looked for evidence of a correlation between the amount of commercial TV watched by young children and their requests of items from Santa Claus.
  • In the first part of the study they interviewed 83 British children aged between 4-6 years asking what they watched on TV.
  • Pine & Nash then analysed the letters written by children to Santa at the end of November and counted the number of items each
