Piliavin Method, procedure and location

Method:

• A field experiment
• Covert observation

The people who gathered the data were 16 general study students from the university of Columbia in the USA. 16 were split into four teams, 2 males being the victim and the model and 2 females being the observers. They always performed the same role in each trial.

Procedure:

• Teams entered the train through different doors
• Victim inacted his collapse after 70 seconds
