Aim

To investigate factors that effect helping behaviour, incluidng : victim type, victim race, speed of helping, frequencey of helping and race of the helper.

Sample

In the study approxemetly 4450 men and women were used, they were travelling on the 8th Avenue railway line between 11AM and 3PM on weekdays during the period of April 15th to June 26th, 1968

Method

- A team of four students boared the train, 'the victim' stood by the central pole in the centre of the critical area. Then approxemetly 70 seconds after departing the victim collapsed to the floor.
