pressure is the force per unit area.
when working out the pressure of something this equation becomes handy: pressure=force/area (pressure equals force divided by area). this is measured in N/m squared or Pa.
large area of contact means there is a smaller pressure
small area of contact means there is a large area of pressure.
in liquid the pressure increases with depth. the reason this is, is because pressure is equal to density times gravity times depth.
