sound travels as a wave....

sound waves are caused by vibrating objects , these mechanical vibrations  are passed throguh surrounding medium as a sereis of compressions. kown as longitudinal waves

sound waves can reflect and refract.....

they can be reflected by flat hard surfaces - carpets and curtains act as absorbing surfaces

they also refract as they enter different media, as they enter dense material they speed up

  • we can hear sounds in the range 20-20,000Hz
  • sounds does not travel through a vacuum
