Balanced Forces

Forces on moving objects 

For every force, there is an equal sized force acting in the opposite direction

When you sit on a chair, it pushes up on you as hard as you push down on it

The weight of a skydiver pulls down on a parachute. This is matched by the upwards tension in the parachute strings.

When a gun is fired, the bullet feels a forward force. The bullet exerts an equal sized backwards force on the gun, which recoils.

When a lift accelerates upwards, the force of the floor pushing upwards is greater than the weight…
