Kinetic Energy

Anything that's moving is kinetic energy.

KINETIC ENERGY = 1/2 X MASS X SPEED (VELOCITY) SQUARED

KE = 1/2MV2

Example: A car of mass 2450 kg is travelling at 38m/s. Calculate its kinetic energy.

Answer: KE = 1/2mv2 = 1/2 x 2450 x 38squared = 1,768,900 J

Example: A 500g mass travels 20 metres in 5 seconds. What is its kinetic energy

      First covert 500g into kilograms - 500g = 0.5kg
