scalars and vectors:
scalar quantaties have a size (or magnitude) only.
e.g. the speed of the car was 60 km/h
vector quantaties have both size and direction.
e.g. the boat sailed 30km north
scalar: vector:

distance displacement

mass force
acceleration
momentum
distance,speed and time:
