Physic Unit 3

HideShow resource information

1) using electricity and magnetism to move things.

- magnetic fields

running current through a wire - wire moves back, out of magnetic field

changing the current direction - wire moves forward, out of magnetic field

changing the magnetic field direction - will move the the opposite way it did when changing the current

increase the current (voltage) - the wire moves further and faster

increase the magnetic field strength - there is more motion

a wire in a magnetic field feels a force and moves

magnetic fields have a direction and a strength

- the motor effect

electric currents produce magnetic fields

current flows through the wire - magnetic field is formed

current through a wire - in a magnetic field - fields interact - wire feels
