Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is the way by which plants get their food source.

Carbon Dioxide + Water     ->       Glucose + Oxygen

Photosynthesis occurs inside chloroplasts in the mesophyll tissue.

Chlorophyll is found inside chloroplasts. It is a green pigment which absorbs sunlight energy and uses it to produce Glucose and Oxygen from Carbon Dioxide and Water.

Xylem and phloem carry minerals, water and sucrose around the plant.

The rate of photosynthesis is affected by three main factors, these are called Limiting Factors.

LIGHT - As the intensity of light increases, the rate of photosynthesis increases up to a certain point. Beyond this point, the rate of photosynthesis is constant.
