Families (Part A)
-family was created by God during creation, marriage is the right relationship withing which to have children
-they have a reponsibility to have children if they are able to, as children are a blessing from God
-the family acts as a building block for society, as it is where children are cared for, learn moral values are are taught the ways of society
-Christian children also learn about the faith and what it means to be Christian (they have a physical family, the family they are born into, and the spiritual family they are born into when they accept Jesus Christ as their saviour'
-children often undergo baptism/a ceremony of dedication to show the parents will raise them as a Christian
-children should obey, honour and care for their parents
SOAs
'Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.' [Psalms 127]
'Marriage... is given as the foundation of family life life in which children are born and nurtured... each member of the family may find strength, companionship and comfort.' [Book of Common Prayer]
'Children, obey your parents in the Lord... Honour your father and mother... Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.' [Ephesians 6]

Divorce (Part D)
-in ancient times only men could ask for a divroce and remarriage was permitted for some
-Jesus suggests that a man can only divorce his wife if she commits adultery
-a divorced woman is a 'victim of adultery'
-a man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery
-Christians promise to stay together for the rest of their lives (marriage is lifelong)
-many Churches accept that things can go wrong and marriages may break down
-encourage marriage counselling etc before divorce, but use situation ethics
-God is onnibenevolent and wouldn't want people to suffer because of a failing marriage
-Roman Catholic Church is against divorce and forbids people to remarry
-marriage is a spiritual bond that is permamnent and binding, it cannot be broken on Earth
