Skill related fitness (ABCPRS)

Agility (Illinois agility run):

  • the ability to change the position of the body quickly and to control the movement of the whole body
  • dramatic changes in direction to lose defenders

Balance (standing stork test):

  • the ability to retain a center of mass (gravity) of the body above the base of support with reference to static (stationary) or dynamic (changing) conditions of movement, shape or orientation.
  • static - clay pigeon shooting, archery, handstand
  • dynamic - hammer throw, netball, balance beam

Coordination (three ball jugle):

  • the ability to use two or more body parts together
  • racket sports - hand-eye coordination
