Frontal lobe

  • Motor area: located in both hemispheres; controls voluntary movement on opposite sides of the brain; damage may result in loss of control over fine movements
  • Broca's area: responsible for speech production; damage causes Broca's aphasia, characterised by slow, laborious speech and speech lacking fluency

Parietal lobe

  • Somatosensory area
