The Four Fundamental Forces

Strong Nuclear Force:

  • Strongest force (1)
  • Very short range
  • Holds nucleus together against enormous repulsion forces

Electromagnetic Force

  • Second strongest force (1 / 137)
  • Infinite Range
  • Forces between charges and magnetic fields
  • Leads to simple collisions between charged particles.

Weak Nuclear Force

  • Third strongest force (10^-6)
  • Involved in beta  decay

Gravitational Force

  • Weakest Force
