Coordinates in Astronomy

Position of Stars is measured by Angles seen from Earth. (Like Latitude and Longitude but in the Sky). As the Earth SPins it appears as if the Sky is Moving so...

Two Fixed Positionsare Used to Measure from:

-  The Pole Star:  a Star that doesnt appear to Move as it is Directly above the North Pole (Spin Axis) of Earth

-  The Celestial Equator: an Imaginary Plane across the Sky ,  extends out from Earth's Equator
