P6 waves

Waves transfer energy but not matter:

1. when a wave travels through a medium, the particles of the medium vibrate.

(A medium is a word for what the wave is travelling through.)

2. the particles transfer energy between each other as they vibrate.

3. the particles stay in the same place - only energy is transferred.
