Projectile Motion

When objects such as cannon balls or missiles are fired into the air they are called projectiles. When moving through the air, the following are all examples of projectiles:

-Golf balls

-Footballs

-Netballs

-Darts

-Long-jumpers.

The path that a projectiles takes is knows as its trajectory. If a projectile is launched horizontally on Earth, and there is no air resistance acting on it, the porjectile will have:

-a constant horizontal velocity

-a steadily increasing vertical velocity.
