THE BASICS
AC- Alternating current - Mains Electricity
DC- DIrect Currect - Batteries
I like to remember it by thinking that mains has more electricity so can go in two ways (alternating) while batteries have less energy so can only go in one way (direct).
Hertz are the frequency of the amount of times the current switches direction. (so can only occur in Mains current.)
INDUCTION
-The creation of electricity
-Created with a magnet and a coil of wire
-Different pole is a different direction. North pole of the magnet will mean the electricity will go in one direction while the South will do the opposite
TO INCREASE THE INDUCED CURRENT
-Magnet moves faster
-Stronger magnet
-More coils
- Area of coil
UNITS
Current- Amps (A)- Ammeter - Series
Voltage- Volts (V)- Voltmeter- Parralel
Voltage(V)= Current (A)X Resistance(ohms)
