Temperature is a measure of how hot something is. The unit of measurement is degrees Celsius ('C). Temperature can be represented by a range of colours in a thermogram. Hottest areas appear white/yellow/red; coldest areas appear black/dark blue/purple.

Heat is a measurement of energy and is measured in joules (J).
