Death and Mortality – Desert symbolises the passing of time, how things can remain prominent but can also have any trace of its existence wiped out or covered up. Ozymandias is erased, and it reminds us that we will all meet death.

Power – The face of the statue and the words upon the plaque show his character so we feel no sympathy for his removal.

Pride – The size of the statue shows how proud the ruler was of himself. The futility
