Give examples of times youve shown leadership: Role in the sixth form as a school ocuncil member and senior prefect. I feel i have shown leadership whilst partaking in these duties as I help younger children in the school, mentoring them in the mornings, for example this could be taking a few people to help with their homework, or simply talking to them to ensure they are happy in school and are feeling ok. I have taken part in organising welsh speaking days for year 7 as part of my role as the senior prefect, this involved multiple sporting activities which i had to organise and oversee throughout the day to ensure it was running smoothly.

Taken part in the overseeing of the school counscil elections for younger years, producing ballot boxes, and ensuring the smooth running of the elections.

Ive also taken part in local primary schools as part of my advanced welsh baccalaureate challenge of community challenge: I helped for around 8 weeks a young child who had multiple learning difficulties and mild autism- although this was challenging for 16 year old me, I provided leadership skills and took on the role as his helper, just helping to improve his confidence.

Team work:

I have worked as a team whilst playing hockey, on the field i have conducted teamwork with every member of the team to ensure victory- and recognise the importance of every member in the team, as fo example, my position (a foreward) would not be possible if it was not for the defence and mid field bringing the ball back up to our side for us to score a goal.  Also, off the field, working as a team to organise fixtures and the training sessions so we can work together to bring success. Work with 2 other people on the hockey teams social media page helping gain more players and publicising the team and our social events- this is rewarding

Pharmacy in the news: Pharmacists to offer sore throat tests:

Sore throat sufferers will be encouraged to visit their pharmacist instead of their GP for an on-the-spot test to see if they need antibiotics.

The walk-in service is aimed at reducing doctor appointments and to help reduce the over-use of antibiotics.

It is hoped the scheme could result in fewer visits to GPs -potentially saving the NHS millions of pounds a year.

"The Sore Throat Test and Treat service,". will determine if an illness is caused by a virus - meaning drugs will not help - or a bacterial infection.

Results from a throat swab, which measures sugars on the tongue, are provided in five minutes. Patients who can be helped by antibiotics will be prescribed them by the pharmacist and not have to see a GP.

- I think this is a really positive idea: it increases the pharmacists…
