Emilia's role 

• Emilia is Iago's stooge in Scene 1. 
• She comes on stage after Iago, suggesting her movements and actions have/are being directed by him.
• Emilia's support for Cassio is appealing, but the audience knows that she is helping Iago when she agrees to take him to speak with Desdemona. 
• It's ominous and ironic that Emilia reports that Othello and Desdemona have already been discussing- perhaps even…
