Osmosis:

What is osmosis?

• The diffusion of water from a dilute solution to a more concentrated solution through a partially permeable membrane. 
• Dilute solutions contain high concentrations of water and concentrated solutions contains low concentrations of water.
• Partially permeable memebranes allow soe molecules to pass through but not all molecules
• Simply the diffusion of water 

• cytoplasm of cells is a relatively concentrated solution. Relatively low concentrsated solution of water
• if we place the cytoplasm in water, it allows osmosis to take place. it will allow water to move in and out of the cell by osmosis. basically…
