One Child Policy - China

     -  Initially China encouraged people to have children, as they thought:

            ~  Make them powerful

            ~  Larger work force

     -  This pro-natalist was approached till early 1970s

     -  Realised population would become unsustainable, population nearly doubled

'Later, longer, fewer':

~  Later marriages, longer gaps between having children, fewer children

~  Encouraged to limit to having 2 children

~  Men had to wait till 25 and women
