By the Salinas River

By the Salinas River seems perfect with "yellow sands", "golden foothill slopes", "fresh and green", yet upon closer inspection is revealed to flood regularly, and be the frequent resting space of "tramps" with a "ash pile". It seems very still with "sculptured stones". It is disturbed by Lennie and George. George voices concerns over the quality of the water. This is also where Lennie is shot. This disturbs and mars the still, peaceful quality of the place, as nature leaves.

Bunk House

The bunk house is a place for the men to sleep, it doesn't seem much like a home "walls were whitewashed". However the men make their own personal mark with their belongings. There is a space
