 George Milton

George is a father figure, a friend and a protector to lennie.  The paternal archetype that George adopts is cautious and responsible.  For example, he makes Lennie throw away a dead mouse he has been concealing, because it is unhygenic , and he tries to stop Lennie drinking too fast and making himself ill when they first arrive at the pool in river.

Georges character is really defined by his relationship with Lennie.  He sometimes complaines that lLennie is a hindrance to him: "I could get along so easy and so
