NW and Yeates

Ideas on the body- Leah doesn't want to have kids but her husband does- the body connects to modernism fiction- can compare this to Yeates poem Leda and the Swan- Leda is ***** and becomes pregnant

Both Yeates and Smith depict women's lack of choice- Leah- feeling forced into having children and Leda being forced into having sex

Both texts reflect a sense of change- Leda and the Swan- ****- written at a time where there was great change happening within Ireland

A lot of NW focuses on change- Leah unsure on what she wants to do with her pregnancy

Felix- biggest change of all- death

Sense of the past with NW- because we get to hear so much about the past within Keishsa/Natailie's narrative…
