an external hard drive is something that gives you more storage if you need it. when you store data  on an external hard drive you can only acess it when the hard drive is plugged into your computer, you can also use it to store files you dont use very often. 

ubs- universel serial bus or flash drive. the usb connector comunicates between the drive and computer. it recognises it as a seperate hard drive allowing users to move their files from different files like the computers hard drive to the flash drive.

you should save your work every 5 mins because sometimes you could accidently delete it or a problem could come up. you should save it more than once as different versions just in case something goes wrong or an corrupted.you should also back your work up on a second hard drive so if something happened like a fire or flood you would be able to get a second peice of your work.
