Normative Ethical Theories

The approach to ethics in which the rightness or wrongness of an act is judged by its conformity to duties, rules and obligations.

Deontological theories tell you what your moral duties are.

The moral worth of an action lies in how it conforms to rules and duties.

They also consider ‘rights’ as your obligation to follow rules implies an intrinsic value
