- Since the 1960's NRMs have grown dramatically.
- WALLIS- categorises NRMs depending on relationship with outside world:
- 1) World rejecting- similar to Troeltsch's sects. e.g. Moonies, Children of God and the Manson Family. Vary greatly in size, clear notion of God, expect or seek radical change, members live communally with restricted access to outside world, often have a strict moral code.
