Woodford: Straight forward frontal pose with arms hanging parallel at the sides and left leg advanced is almost identical to the Egyptian style. Head and body are upright and eyes, mouth, shoulders, knees, hips and ankles are all level. this sort of organisation was encouraged by the drawings on the grid. Forms of the greek figure are schematised into decorative patterns, the Greek figure is cut entirely free form the block. The absence of drapery allowed the sculptor freedom to organise parts of the bodyinto an aesthetically pleasing composition. Symmetry is accentuated by balanced pairs.
