Religion is non-thinking

  • Dawkins argues that religion involves faith and faith, by nature, is opposed to evidence
  • 'Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence... Faith is not allowed to justify itself by argument' - Dawkins
  • Dawkins argues that religious people know, without evidence, that the faith of their birth is the one true faith
  • Faith is infantile and religious children are brought up to believe unquestioningly - belief in God is something forced upon children by adults
  • Even mild and moderate religion helps to provide the climate of faith
