Nelson Pike

He argues:

  • Believes God never intervenes to do miracles
  • It is not possible for God to intervene because God is outside time, with no past, present or future, God would be unable to act within time and at any point in time within the world.
  • St Thomas Aquinas also thought God is outside time but he believed that God could act within time to do miracles because he is God and God can do anything.

Some religious believers might respond to this view by arguing:

  • Pike has misunderstood what it means…
