Natural and artificial fertilisers

Agricultural crop growth is often intensive with same land being used to repeatedly used to grow crops as these crops are harvested the minerals and ions that are taken from the soil are not returned to soil throught the decompositon of the plant so fertilisers are needed.

Using fertilisers increases crop size and growth, this higher yield provides humans with cheaper food.
