AQUINAS ( 1225-74)

• 'Telos' = everything in the universe has a end/purpose
• The Telos of humans is Eudemonina ( "Human flourishing or prosperity")

Aquinas had 4 tiers of Law 

1. Eternal Law = mind of God

• His knowledge on what is right/wrong
• Moral truths that we cannont understand at human level. However, God has given us some abiliy to reason to work out some application to human life.

2. Divine Law = law revealed by God through commands and teachings (scriptures) 

• Aquinas beived the laws revealed by God are reasonabl e.g, 10 comandments
