MS Unit 1 - Role and Powers of Devolved Bodies

?

The UK Central Government has given certain powers to devolved governments so they can make decisions for their own area. The Scottish Parliament and Welsh and Nothern Ireland Assemblies were formed in 1999. For each, the arrangements are different and they reflect their history and administrative structures. The UK remains repsonsible for national policies that haven't been devolved such as foreign affairs, defence, social security and trade.
