The Nucleus:
- Its in the middle of the atom
- Contains protons and electrons
- Has a positive charge because of the protons
- Almost the whole mass of the atom is concentrated in the nucleus
- Tiny compared to the rest of the atom
The Electrons:
- Move around the nucleus in energy levels called shells
- Negitavely charged
- Tiny, but cover a lot of space
- The size of their orbit depends on how big the atom is
- Have virtually no mass
