Distance-Time Graphs: Distance travelled is plotted on the y axis against time taken on the x axis. The steeper the line on a distance-time graph, the greater the speed it represents. Speed (metre/second, m/s) = distance travelled (metre, m) / time taken (second, s). When the line is horizontal to the x axis it is a stationary body. The slope of the line represents the speed.
