Momentum = Mass x Velocity

  • The greater the mass of an object and the greater its velocity, the more momentum the object has.
  • Momentum is a quantity of vectors- it has size and direction.

Momemtum (kgm/s) = Mass (kg) x Velocity (m/s)
p       =       m       x        v

Momentum before= Momentum after

Momentum is conserved when no external forces act. The total momentum is the same before as it is after.
