Molecules - Water

HideShow resource information

Water

- the electrons of oxygen and hydrogen atoms are negatively charged, while the nuclei of both are positively charged.

How a water molecule is formed (polarity)

- the oxygen atom steals the negatively charged electrons from the hydrogen atom.

- this causes the oxygen atom to become negatively charged and in return the hydrogen atom will be positively charged.
