• Believe that Humans have unlimitied potential and that they need to realise that potential

• They believe in positive liberty, say that individuals should have support to realise their full potential
• Argued that individuals opressed by socio economic factors that limit their liberty 
• Can only be altered by the state stepping in
• Also put more emphasis on tolerance, social liberalism, greater gender and ethnicity acceptance
