Mitosis

Mitosis:

• Refers to a diploid cell that duplicate to form two diploid cells. Technically it is the splitting/replication of a nucleus into two separate nucleolus that is usually accompanied by cytokineses.

Mechanics of Mitosis:

Interphase: NOT EVEN IN MITOSIS YET

• Literally when the cell is just living and growing, accumulating materials etc.

• It replicates its chromosomes. 

• The copies of the chromosomes separate and each daughter cell ends up with the same number  of chromosomes as the parent cell.

• During this phase it will generate a copy of itself…
