• Christians believe that God intervened in the world when he sent his son Jesus to earth
• A miracle can be defined as a supernatural event or act
• Christians understand this to be when God intervenes and apparently overrules the LAWS OF NATURE
• Many miracles are seen as the work of the Holy Spirit.  The first miracle of the Holy Spirit was at Pentecost when the disciples were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues
